Our vision for 2030

We prioritise our activities in line with the strategy of the wider MCHC Group. It’s about creating the right operating environment and having a vision even further out to 2050 that drives our day-to-day activities.

A healthy balance of what we plan and what we do today links to long-term sustainable progress and ultimately achieving our goals along the way.

How we focus on improving environmental and social sustainability revolves around five pillars in order to achieve maximum impact and progress.

  1. Build a KAITEKI Sustainability Management system
  2. Measurement of financial, social and environmental impact along the life cycle
  3. Reduction of Environmental impact
  4. Promote a Circular Economy
  5. Feasibility studies of KAITEKI factories

Pillar 1. Build a KAITEKI Sustainability Management system

  • Integrated management system for the delivery of KAITEKI
  • Business and stakeholder key KAITEKI materiality requirements assessed and prioritised
  • MOS, MOT and MOE defined for all key material impact projects
  • Resource requirements to deliver objectives defined and implemented
  • Integrated project management systems to deliver objectives
  • Effective communication and engagement with all stakeholders

We will build a sustainability management system by developing decision-making processes and management foundations in order to achieve these four pillars.

Datasheets are readily available for all our material types and can be accessed by through our datasheet portal. New to Lucite? Request your password to access the portal

Pillar 2. Measurement of financial, social and environmental impact along the life cycle

  • Environmental impacts
  • Socio-economic impacts
  • Upstream, direct and downstream impacts
  • Environmental, social and governance (ESG) standards
  • Communication and reporting of key metrics
  •

We will evaluate our LCA evaluations from the current environmental impact of products to cover the entire value chain, including the impact of society.

Life Cycle assessment according to ISO 14040/ 14044, Impact measurement system according to Value Balancing Alliance, Ecovadis, Global Reporting Initiative

Pillar 3. Reduction of Environmental impact

  • GHG reduction
  • Renewable energy use
  • VOC reduction
  • Water use reduction

In addition to reducing and making effective use of GHGs throughout the entire value chain, we will work to reduce our environmental impact by contributing to the sustainable supply and use of water and resource management for all of society, including our business activities.

Carbon management commitment according to global standard GHG protocol (scope: 1, 2, 3), ISO 14064, 14065

Pillar 4. Promote a Circular Economy

  • Design out waste and pollution
  • Keep products and materials in use
  • Regenerate natural systems

Through the development of technologies and business models for material and chemical recycling, and the provision of biobased polymers, we will contribute to promoting a circular economy.

Key actions:

  • Promotion of circular products
  • Enhance end of life recovery systems
  • Reuse and replacement of existing non-circular feedstocks
  • Increase use of sustainable bio-based feedstocks

Pillar 5. Feasibility studies of KAITEKI factories

  • Delivering Net Zero Carbon products
  • Developing products and processes with no toxic environmental impacts
  • Developing businesses which balance economic, social and environmental needs

We aim to realize an ecosystem that provides solutions to social issues by integrating KAITEKI factories with local communities.
